This palace has been in service for a long time and has been taken care of. Initially built as a summer residence for Grandmaster Verdala, it was used by the Governors under British rule and nowadays by Maltese presidents. The trees look so small in the painting, nowadays they're so grown that one cannot take a decent picture of the palace with them in the way!
